CHIP CARR

Chip Carr grew up in the Annapolis area and the Annapolis Yacht Club has been part of his family for 70 years. He joined the Club in 1984 and Chip has been on the ACYF Board for 15 years. He grew up sailing Turtles, 420s, and Lasers at Severn Sailing Association and raced in the Alberg, J Boat, and MORC classes in college and beyond.  His racing experience includes National titles and top finishes in multiple classes on the Chesapeake Bay, Great Lakes, and Atlantic Ocean.  He worked for Larry Leonard at Sobstad Sails servicing the Annapolis boating market and made sails for the 1987 New York Yacht Club's America's Cup Challenge. He left sailmaking for real estate and leads a successful business. He and his wife of 34 years have three grown children and reside in Severna Park.
