FREDRIK SALVESEN
Fredrik Salvesen has been a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club since 1995 and an AYC Foundation Advisory Committee member since 2010. Fredrik learned to sail from his dad who sailed as a kid in Norway. He went to West River Sailing School and participated and won many CBYRA events. His family moved to Annapolis from Bethesda in 1980 and he became an instructor at Severn Sailing Association (SSA) the next year. He met his wife Missy at SSA while teaching together.

Fredrik has been chairman of the Junior Fleet, JI and IT committees. Fredrik was the founder and original chair of the JI committee and the JI membership category. Fredrik went to University of Maryland which did not have a structured sailing team at the time. He organized big boat teams and skippered Kennedy cup to two third place finishes.

Fredrik has been sailing and racing big boats named Streaker with his
family since age 5. Now and over the last 35 years he has campaigned Mirage (formerly j-29, Mumm 30 and currently a J-105) with Cedric Lewis and the rest of our team to many high point championships and placing first or second in 4 North American Championships.

Fredrik is the Managing Partner of Disruptiv Technologies a company offering advanced software technologies to the Government and Commercial customers. Fredrik is passionate about sailing but is most proud that his wife and three kids actively sail, race sailboats on a regular basis. Our kids have benefited from AYCF as junior and High school sailors, and I am very pleased to help continue this great foundation going forward.
