Jennifer Norwood is a 30-year member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and has held many leadership roles at the Club as well as served as flag officer on the Board of Governors from 2018-2023.

Her lifelong passion for sailing and boating on the Chesapeake Bay began at birth, learning to sail through AYC’s Junior fleet, racing AYC Wednesday Nights with her dad, working as an AYC Jr Fleet coach, and racing as an owner and crew of multiple race boats.  Jennifer is an active amateur racer having competed in multiple grand prix classes including Farr 40, Melges 32, J22, IC37, ORC, TP52 and others.  She is a 3x Farr 40 World Champion, multiple North American/ Nationals champion and Australian national champion.  As a long time racing crew, in 2014 Jennifer sought the new challenge of driving, and campaigned her J70, qualifying and competing in the first J70 Worlds

that year.  She continues to race her J70 locally, nationally & internationally, while also crewing on other race boats and developing her navigation skills. Jennifer’s passion for sailing extends beyond her personal achievements. She actively volunteers  with the USNA Offshore team, AYC Knotty Girls, CRAB & other community groups, sharing her love for the water and supporting the development of new racers and sailors.

When not racing, Jennifer is a seasoned business executive, leading strategy, partnerships & innovation in the pharmaceutical and digital health industries. Jennifer has a passion for driving change, mentoring others in their development and bringing new opportunities in sailing, work and life to broader communities.  She believes in the power of water for positive change in people’s lives and our world, and the pivotal role the AYC Foundation plays in that mission.
