2026 Brendan Sailing Awards Ceremony

On Sunday, March 29th the AYC Foundation attended the 2026 Brendan Sailing Awards Ceremony.

The annual event was an opportunity to recognize the achievements of the Brendan campers and to honor the dedication of the volunteers, instructors, families and supporters who strengthen their community.

The AYC Foundation has been a proud supporter of Brendan Sailing over the past few years through our grants program. Brendan Sailing transforms the lives of youth with learning differences by building confidence, independence, and personal growth through sailing. They use AYC Foundation financial help to support and to provide scholarships for their four camps held each summer in Annapolis.

Led by phenomenal sailor and former AYC employee, Jane Millman, Brendan Sailing provides excellent instruction, camaraderie and leadership development to enthusiastic kids as they are introduced to sailing and encouraged to continue to develop their skills. Some campers attend each summer and eventually become junior instructors.

Brendan Sailing was named after St. Brendan, the Patron Saint of Navigation, honoring both a spirit of exploration and safe passage on the water. The name symbolizes courage, discovery, and guidance. Today, Brendan Sailing continues that tradition by helping youth navigate both the waters and the challenges of learning differences with confidence.

Congratulations to Brendan Sailing…your campers, families, volunteers and instructors!
