Having Fun AND Making an Impact

Earlier this year, T2PTV generously donated a ride-along during their Wednesday Night Race (WNR) coverage at the AYC Foundation Fete & Auction.  Brooks Crawford, who's entering his third year with the AYC Opti Championship fleet, was the lucky recipient.  We caught up with Brooks to hear what he thought about the experience.

Q. Why did you want your mom to bid on this experience?

A. At last December’s Orange Bowl regatta I was interviewed on the media boat after one of my races. I liked being able to share what went well and what could have gone better in the race. It went by so fast and I wanted to learn how interviews are made.

Q. What was it like to be on the T2PTV boat during WNR?

A. I got to see a bunch of starts and mark roundings as well as a couple of my Opti teammates trying out some of the big boats.

Q. What did you learn from the experience?

A.  The T2PTV team had a really fancy drone and I learned how they got a lot of their overhead shots of the fleet. I realized how complicated it was to run a media company and also saw they were having a good time.

Q. Were there any favorite moments from the evening?

A. My favorite part was going really fast to get the shot. I was interviewed at the end of the night and got to wear the microphone headset!

Q. Any final thoughts you'd like to share about your WNR ride along?

A. I want to thank the T2PTV team for inviting me to come along and my parents for bidding. It was a really cool experience and it feels good to know it also helped the AYC Foundation! The Foundation is grateful for its contributors like T2PTV whose support and generosity of time are providing creative and meaningful experiences on the water.
