Over Labor Day weekend, James Golden who for all intents and purposes is still considered a newbie in the class, took top honors at the Finn North American Championship hosted by Newport Harbor YC. With his first race his drop, it was steady as she goes, posting nothing higher than 3rd place with 35 boats on the line. The 2nd place boat posted a bunch of bullets but after 8 races, the total was still 7 points more than Golden. The scratch sheet is a who’s who in the class, many of whom have been competing in Finn’s for many years so a big congratulations to James and we look forward to watching his progress.
