Q1 Awards Granted to Applicants

The Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation awarded 10 grants and scholarships to applicants in the first quarter, including three 501(c)(3) organizations and five scholarships.

Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis is a first-time grant awardee.  Last year was their third summer in Annapolis and they provided 27 “missions” taking cancer patients and their family or friends on a relaxing sail on the Chesapeake Bay.  Suzanne Snyder, a cancer survivor herself, shared: "We honor those challenged by cancer by harnessing the healing powers of wind, water, and sail.” 


Valhalla Sailing Project.  Their mission is simple: To prevent Veteran suicide. They are providing wounded, disabled and separating Veterans the sense of camaraderie, family, community, and self through the sport of sailing.


Nine young sailors received tuition help so they can participate in summer sailing camps at AYC, Severn Sailing Association and West River Sailing Club.
