Junior and Intermediate AYC Members Raise Nearly $5,000 for the Foundation at Their Annual Pig Roast

The J/I Annual Pig Roast brought together junior and intermediate members for an engaging and energetic night of cocktails, delicious food, and committee overviews of key info and upcoming events. The AYC Foundation was proud to be a part of the meeting by providing information on the ongoing Velocity Campaign, a campaign that was graciously kicked off by the Roesch family to match up to $500,000 that the AYCF raises before the end of the year. This is an effort to increase the AYCF funding to $5 million by 2028 to improve opportunities to help assist local nonprofits with similar missions, provide opportunities for underprivileged youth to get access to the water, and to help send sailors to national and international competitions.

Commodore Tim Cusack kicked off the evening by providing an overview of the Foundation's work and offered to match the first $1,000 contributions of the evening.  Lydia Jabin, the AYCF Strategic Committee Chair, made the request for donations and kept the excitement going throughout the evening by providing updates on the contributions. Ultimately more than 35 J/Is contributed, quickly passing the Commodore's $1,000 challenge. Factoring in the Velocity Campaign match, the J/Is effectively contributed nearly $5,000 for AYCF!

It was a great achievement to have so many donations in such a small amount of time. Thank you to all the J/I members who contributed to the Velocity Campaign. We look forward to celebrating when the Foundation achieves its $500,000 goal this year and are proud to have contributed to the Foundation's endowment. No contribution amount is too small.  Please consider making your contribution today!
